The Drugging of America

We are just beginning to see the rapid decline of one of the most profitable, and thus powerful and influential industries, in the entire world: The pharmaceutical industry! Although it is just starting, the momentum is continuing to increase—once people finally discover (as many doctors already have), that it's their medications that are keeping people sick and contributing to, rather than resolving, disease.
There is also an increase in the number of class action suits being filed on behalf of patients who have been damaged by their drugs, such as those who have experienced serious health concerns, such as rapid weight gain and diabetes, caused by atypical antipsychotic drugs such as Zyprexa™, which are often prescribed for non-FDA approved conditions. Such drugs are "totally inappropriate" for any condition—FDA approved or not!
Interestingly, according to an article published in the December 30, 2008 issue of the New York Times, "Experts say most drugs, whatever the disease, work for only about half the people who take them. Not only is much of America's approximately $300 billion annual drug spending wasted, but countless patients are being exposed unnecessarily to side effects."
Billions of dollars have been devoted to research for decades, with little real progress in understanding that only our body can heal itself. Drugs never have been, nor ever will be, the solution. With all the money being spent on masking the symptoms, you should ask yourself, why not deal with the underlying problem to make the symptoms go away naturally?
This is the focus of alternative medicine—give your body the tools it needs to heal itself, and the problems will go away. A sick person on drugs is sick again once off the drugs, but someone who strengthens his immune system and gets the proper nutrients can be healthy once again. Who would you rather be?

Conclusion of Commentary on Proverb 3:5-6
In everything you do and say, wherever you go or whoever you're with, always (all ways) be aware of the Lord and His Presence and acknowledge Him.
When you are at a gathering with your spouse or a date of whom you are fond, you are always aware of his presence and kind of "keep an eye" on him.
And when the two of you are in the company of a third person and (say) you as husband are having a discussion with the third person, you are always aware (or should be) of your wife's presence and try to acknowledge her by including her and drawing her into the conversation, so that she becomes an active participant instead of just an observer-bystander-listener.
It is the same with our Lord. In whatever situation we find ourselves, we must always acknowledge His Presence and include Him in our conversation internally.
In doing so, we then will hear that still, small voice ... and He will direct our paths.
Easy? Hardly, because we are not in the habit of doing so. It takes practice, because of the myriad distractions of life. And it is harder for those of us who multi-task. Practicing His Presence throughout our day is the only time it is really effective and super productive to multi-task.
And as we seek Him and allow Him to lead us, He will direct our paths, and we then can be sure that we are walking in the way we should go.
Just as we are to train our children in the way they should go, so that they will not depart from that way, so the Lord trains us. But with our free will, we can choose not to listen and not to walk in the direction that He leads us—the direction that is right and the direction He has chosen for our lives—the way that leads to fulfillment of His purpose for our lives.
And that purpose is to walk with Him "in the garden" just as Adam and Eve did in the beginning—before the execise of their free will and chose to listen to another voice—the voice of death that bound them to the earth, so that they no longer could enjoy the garden in the company of the Lord, walking and talking with Him.
Because they yielded to temptation and did not follow the lead and direction of the Lord, they took the wrong path where the grass appeared to be greener, only to find that it was all deception, and they fell for it, because they did not stay in His Presence.
They got their minds off Him and onto self-dreaming of an exalted position that did not exist—gods, knowing good and evil—wishing to be wise in their own eyes—and yielding to that deception, they became mortal.

A newly converted hippie was very interestedly reading the Bible while waiting for transportation and every now and then would exclaim, "Alleluia, Praise the Lord, Amen" and on and on as he read on.
A skeptic heard him and came and asked what he was reading. He answered, "I am reading how God parted the Red Sea and let the Israelites go through—that is a miracle!" The skeptic explained, "Do not believe everything the Bible tells you. The truth of the matter is that that body of water was only really six inches deep—so it was not miracle."
The hippie nodded in disappointment but kept on reading, as the skeptic was walking away feeling proud that he had set the hippie straight.
All of a sudden the skeptic heard the hippie let out a big "Alleluia, Praise the Lord!"
At this the skeptic came back to him and asked, "What is it this time?" The hippie said excitedly in one breath, "This one is a real miracle. God drowned the whole Egyptian army in six inches of water!!!"

Today's English Lesson
Seeing the same elementary mistakes over and over again has prompted this publisher to write an English lesson each issue. Look for some of these lessons to be repeated, because the mistakes are!
Don't know how many times I've repeated this little lesson, but it just screams out for attention again! Does this misusage bother any of you as much as it does me?
I'm talking about "its" and "it's."
This is really so very simple and easy to learn, but some people just don't get it! Grrrrrrr!
Listen up! "It's" is a contraction. It simply means "it is."
"Its" is a pronoun and refers to an attribute of something, as in "its shape" or "its smell" or "its color." It is used to refer to something that belongs to something neutral, similar to the way you would refer to "his coat" or "her hat."
Once and for all, these two are N-O-T interchangeable!

Conservatives are not Terrorists!

In view of the recent report regarding the status of our homeland security, I feel it is imperative for the country's safety that I confess my transgressions.
I am a U.S. military veteran, I am a member of the National Rifle Association, I am pro-life, I support traditional marriage, I support secure borders, I believe in limited government, I prefer American sovereignty over global government, and I am a firm believer in the United States Constitution.
For these associations and beliefs, I have been targeted as a potential terrorist by the Department of Homeland Security. Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, has labeled me a "right-wing extremist," and as such, I am on a government watch list.
To atone for my right-wing way of life, I would like to go on a apology tour of the world. This, of course, is not possible, because I lack an entourage of hundreds and an Air Force One type aircraft.
Instead, I use the words on this page to confess and apologize for being a terrible citizen in the eyes of my government. I'd like to apologize for George Washington, Mother Teresa, Ronald Reagan, the Pope, and the millions of other conservatives, living and dead, who share or shared my traditional American conservative values.
Unfortunately, as a mere citizen, I cannot apologize for others. This is a privilege reserved for presidents, so they may apologize to the world for the selfish, arrogant country they represent.
Finally, as a potential terrorist, I should be removed from the general population before I commit whatever terrorist act it is that conservatives are supposed to have committed or will commit in the future.
The homeland security authorities may apprehend me at my residence or perhaps some Sunday morning on my way to church.
I'll be easy to spot, as my car has an American flag and an NRA sticker on the window.
