Hi, everyone. Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about my having paid a surprise visit to my daughter and family in Indy? Well, Sunday she paid me back big time, and I had no clue ... and on top of that, since she knew she wouldn't be able to come over for Mother's Day, she brought me the most beautiful card (sentiment wise), along with a photo/dedication/memory book of "Mom and Me" ... in which she included some old pictures of her as a baby and of her and me together, along with some pretty sweet sentiments.
After I recovered from the shock, we spent a beautiful day together, first visiting her grandmother, and then girl-talk the rest of the afternoon into early evening before she had to leave. I thank God every day to have been blessed with her.Hope you enjoy the issue below!

A Healthier You
Today's word is short, sweet, and cuts right to the quick.
Cut out processed sweets (especially artificially sweetened), which includes cookies, pies, cakes, ice cream, soda pop, candy, and anything else that contains refined sugar or artificial sweeteners. Period. That's it.
But, you may ask, can't I ever eat dessert again? Yes, you certainly may choose from the large variety of fruit God has provided for our health. The only other exception is if the food has been prepared completely from organic sources.
So begin today to eliminate these unhealthy items one by one and start substituting the good stuff little by little. Your body will begin to feel better, and you just might drop some of that extra poundage!

Trust in the Lord ...
If Jesus was still in His human body on the earth and in the same room with you (and He still is, only in Spirit and invisible) and a gang of thugs burst in threatening your life, would you not depend on Jesus to keep you safe, without hesitation or reservation or doubt in His ability and willingness to do so? And wouldn't your reactions mirror that dependence on Him?
Or, Jesus still being visible to you, what if you fell and broke your arm or had a heart attack? Wouldn't you again turn to Jesus to fix it immediately, without the first thought of calling 911 or rushing to the nearest hospital to seek out the arm of flesh? Why would you leave the Presence of the Great Physician to run elsewhere?
That being the case (that Jesus is still with us today, although invisible to our finite eyes), wouldn't it be wise to get into the habit of trusting and depending on Him for everything? (Didn't He tell us to cast all of our cares upon Him?)
So when are we going to start doing that? What are we waiting for? the second coming?

Puzzled over when to use "anyway" as one word or two? Maybe this will clarify things for you.
"Any way"—two words—is used when you want to describe how something is done. (Example — Do it any way you wish.)
"Anyway"—one word—is used to indicate something done despite something else. Clear? (Example — She said she wouldn't, but she did it anyway.)

Politician Extraordinaire?
Increased taxes, big government, and obscene spending are policies that should be dead on arrival in Washington. Unfortunately, that's not yet the case with Obama's plan for a national energy sales tax.
Obama and his liberal allies in Congress are rushing to impose a heavy-handed plan to govern energy production across the country. More importantly—for your family—this plan called "cap-and-trade" will cause you to pay more for gas, electricity and just about everything.
Even Obama admits his energy sales tax is going to cost you:
Barack Obama: "Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket." (January 2008)
So we know that Obama's plan would make the cost of energy "skyrocket." The question is: What will this cost you and your family?
An MIT study looked at a cap-and-trade scheme that closely tracked Obama's proposal and projected revenue of $366 billion in a single year. To calculate the impact on families, we divided the revenue by the number of U.S. households to get a new tax burden of about $3,000 per family. $3,000 per family!
The audacity of Obama's energy tax is compounded by the fact that the President claims that he's not increasing taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 per year.
Let's be clear: Obama's energy plan raises taxes on every American family.
